AN ARTICLE 5 CONVENTION IN WOKE AMERICA?

An Article 5 Convention is not only a bad idea, but a disastrous idea in today's political climate...
The relentless push for an Article 5 Convention pops up at every Legislative Session in states that have not signed on as supporters of a call for a Convention of the States to amend the US Constitution. 
Although this is sold as a way to change one or two parts of the Constitution such as term limits or a mandated balanced budget, it has a great potential to become a run-away convention that could eviscerate the founders "original intent".
In their wisdom, the founders provided a way to amend the Constitution through a process that was intended to limit the scope of the amendments to single issues.
This amendment process required a 2/3 rds vote of Congress and the Senate to pass the amendment, followed by submission to all State Legislatures requiring approval by 75% of the states for ratification.
This amendment process has resulted in 27 total amendments since the ratification of the U.S. Constitution in 1788.....

Some call for a Convention of the States to fix the problems with the Constitution, not understanding or wanting to admit that the problems are not with the Constitution, but those who we elect to lead our nation.  We need educated voters who understand the importance of electing responsible representatives, and responsible representatives that take their role and responsibility seriously.  Sadly, at this point we have neither.
It is time to stop the destruction of our sacred institutions, and there is no better place to start than a deep and effectual study of the original intent of our founding documents including the Declaration of Independence, the U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights. The responsibility to return to truly representative government rests with us.

AUDITING THE FEDERAL LEVIATHAN – an alternative to an Article 5 Convention?

We will be discussing a reasonable alternative to the concept of a Constitutional Convention, which many opponents fear could turn into a runaway convention very quickly because of the wording of Article 5.  G.R. believes that an audit of the Federal overreach is much overdue and something that individual states can request without triggering a Con-Con.
